There are several ways to look at the stamp catalogue.
List formatThe list format is a flat list of types, with the ten or so most-important fields listed. It includes sorting and filtering controls for each displayed field. To change the sorting, click on the names of the fields at the top. The first click sorts up, a second click changes to sort down. The previously-clicked-on fields are still used as tie breakers, so you can click on several fields in a row to set up particular sort patterns. The list format is best for finding patterns in groups of stamps, especially for groups spanning multiple issuers.
Array formatArray format lists stamps by image, similar to stock sheets. Sorting and filtering set in another format is remembered and used, if not displayed.
Catalog formatThis is a traditional catalogue listing. Filtering and sorting affect the catalogue listing as with the other formats; the results may look a little strange however.
Raw formatRaw format lists entire stamp type records, displaying the data exactly as it is stored, mysterious id numbers and all. (Ids are linked to the values they represent, so you can always click through to see.) Raw format is most useful for maintaining the data, and it's useful for filtering and sorting on the obscure fields not displayed in other formats.
Individual stampsEach stamp type has its own page, listing all the information about it. On the left side are all the images of this type, not listed in any particular order. The middle has the textual fields, typically linked to objects describing the value if appropriate, or to a filtered list of all types with the same value. The right side has notes. It will list both public notes and your private notes. |
